Damar Hamlin remains in hospital but is ‘in good spirits’ after suffering cardiac arrest

Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin remains hospitalized but is “in good spirits” eight days after suffering cardiac arrest in an NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hamlin is being evaluated at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute in upstate New York after being discharged Monday from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The 24-year-old said he was passing medical tests and asked well-wishers to keep him in their prayers.

“Damar Hamlin remains hospitalized but is in good spirits at the Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, a Kaleida healthcare facility in Buffalo, NY,” the Bills tweeted.

“Hamlin is going through a series of tests and evaluations today.”

Hamlin’s heart stopped nine minutes into last Monday’s game at Paycor Stadium after colliding with Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

“Not quite home yet,” he tweeted. “I’m still doing and passing a number of tests.

“Special thanks to Buffalo General, it’s been nothing but love since arrival! Please keep me in your prayers!”
